In total, the 3,000 cubic meters of concrete of the prestressed structure were demolished. The demolition materials will be crushed, de-merged and then crushed on site to be reused as fill.
This was a large-scale operation that mobilized a large number of machines: 10 demolition excavators weighing from 30 to 60 tons, with their equipment (about 30 tools including concrete shears, iron shears, crushers, rock breakers, etc.), 3 A35 dumpers, a wheel loader and a bulldozer. Once the structure has been demolished, the earthworks carried out by Forézienne immediately followed, and a new phase of work began: the construction of the new motorway bridge by Eiffage Génie Civil.
Congratulations to all our mobilized teams and thank you VINCI Autoroutes for their confidence.
